Uncover Eerie Underground Discovery in a Popular California City
There’s an interesting city in California that is pretty major, but doesn’t typically get all of the glory like, say, Los Angeles or San Diego.
Enter the city of Sacramento, stage right.
California’s capital, The Big Tomato, The City of Trees. Whatever you like to call it, there are many reasons why nearly two and a half million people call this place home.
Anyone who’s lived there for some time can tell you some things to know about Sacramento: if a traffic light turns green, always look both ways before driving away, don’t park under a palm tree on a windy day, buy a beer passport so you can enjoy all the breweries, and even though there are so many people, it has a small town feel.
OLD SACRAMENTO AND THE EERIE PAST
Old Sacramento got hit with devastating floods in the mid-1850s, so the city decided to build things anew above ground.
There’s a way you can take a peek into the old underground tunnels below the city, the Sacramento Underground Tours.
The History Museum gives underground tours every day, so the next time you’re in Sacramento, stop by for a visit.
FUN FACT: One of the best times to take an underground tour at the Sacramento History Museum is during Halloween. You’ll enjoy some spooky ghosts along the way!
