THE TEEN WAS FOUND NOVEMBER 6 BUT POLICE DIDN'T SAY HOW HE DIED NOW A SUSPECT IS IN CUSTODY
Now police have a suspect in custody. The teen was found dead November 6 by Officers after getting reports of a person inside a truck who wasn't responding. After the discovery police termed the death "suspicious" because they didn't say how the boy died.
NOW POLICE SAY THE TEEN DIED OF A GUNSHOT WOUND
Authorities say the teen was the victim of a shooting and died of a gunshot wound. Now an 18-year-old is in jail in connection with the shooting. Salem Officers arrested the suspect as he was walking in the area of Kinsington Street Southeast and Wickshire Court Southeast.
THE OFFICERS REACTED AFTER THE SUSPECT REACHED FOR SOMETHING IN HIS WAISTBAND
As Officers arrived they saw him look for something in his waistband and that caused Officers to use "less lethal munition" to take him into custody.
After searching the suspect Officers found a handgun. The suspect has been identified 18-year-old Gage Jeremy Clark-Adkins. He faces charges of second degree murder. A judge has denied bail.
The suspect is expected to be back in court for a status hearing on February 6.
