That Gas You Put in The Tank is More Expensive This Week in Yakima
Drivers in Yakima are feeling the pinch at the pump as gasoline prices have continued to rise over the past week. According to GasBuddy's latest survey, the average price of gasoline in Yakima is now $3.58 per gallon, an increase of 5.9 cents from the previous week.
AT LEAST GAS IS CHEAPER THAN A MONTH AGO
Despite the recent increase, prices in Yakima are still lower than they were a month ago, with a difference of 16.7 cents per gallon. Compared to last year, prices are even lower, with a difference of 23.1 cents per gallon. In contrast, the national average price of diesel has also gone up, rising 10.0 cents per gallon to $4.09. This increase is in line with the overall trend of rising fuel prices across the country.
EVEN THOUGH PRICES ARE HIGH YOU CAN STILL FIND CHEAP GAS IN THE VALLEY
While Yakima residents may be feeling the impact of higher gas prices, they can take some comfort in knowing that prices in the area are still relatively lower compared to other parts of the state. The cheapest gas station in the Yakima valley is selling at $2.98 per gallon, while the most expensive was priced at $4.49 per gallon.
TYPICAL PRICE INCREASES FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR?
According to experts like Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, the rise in gas prices is typical for this time of year as the industry prepares for the summer driving season. However, uncertainties remain about how high prices will go and how long they will stay elevated. As drivers in Yakima continue to navigate the fluctuating gas prices, it remains to be seen how much higher prices will go in the coming weeks.
