Want to know when classes start? There are fifteen school districts in ESD 105 covering cities within Yakima County. Back to school starts with Toppenish on Thursday, August 13th up to Selah, which begins on Monday, August 31st.
Time Flies Fast When You're Having Summer Fun
It seems like it was just a few weeks ago when the school year ended for kids here in the Valley. My daughter is about to enter the 10th grade and she's in the Yakima School District***, so her first day of school is Thursday, August 27th.
Before you head out to get your kids those haircuts, backpacks, and school supplies, you need to know the official date for the first day for the 2026-2027 school year.
Speaking of haircuts, local businesses like Yakima's Pegasus Kids Hair Studio (4811 Tieton Dr) and Evergreen Beauty College (401 N 1st St) have been busy prepping for special events to provide back-to-school haircut specials for the kids.

- Elementary Students Group 2: 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Hoover, McClure, McKinley, Nob Hill, Ridgeview, Roosevelt, and Whitney
- Middle School Students: 7:45 a.m. to 2: 15 p.m.
- High School Students: 8:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
