Alaska Airlines Window Panel Blown Out While Flying

Remember all those safety warnings they give you before you leave the ground? I bet those passengers were glad they were paying attention this time.

This is like something out of that Final Destination movie.

This flight over Portland, Oregon, lost it's window panel on one of the passenger sides of the plane. Not just the window but the entire panel attached to said window. Talk about change in cabin pressure.

Here's video of the aftermath.

From what I've read, nobody was hurt or, because I know you're curious, got sucked out of the plane or anything like that... sicko. But it sounds like an unoccupied seat was taken. Glad nobody was sitting there.

According to one post, they said it did suck the shirt off of a child, but no word on if that's true or not.

Flight 1282 was heading from Portland, OR to Ontario, CA (just east of Los Angeles) when it happened less than an hour after takeoff.

Fortunately, the plane was able to turn right back around and land safely back in Portland.

They also said this Boeing was one of their newer planes, fresh from the factory.

Alaska has been transparent on (don't call it Twitter) X as this was happening.

Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.
