I've heard fables of a certain pizza place that serves their pizza cold on purpose. The crust is baked with the sauce, but the toppings like cheese and pepperoni are placed afterwards and served cold as such.

Yes, it's real.

Beto's in Pittsburgh, PA, has this pizza that some either love or loathe. But the people who love them really love them.

I had the chance to try them recently.

When I tried them, it was heated so the cheese and all that was melted like a standard pizza and, to me, it was very good. I think they used provolone instead of mozzarella which was a nice touch.

I've heard that the idea of cooking the crust with sauce, then adding the toppings afterward was perfect for getting it to go as the steam from the hot crust would perfectly melt the cheese so it'd be ready by the time you got home. Kind of a neat idea.

It seems like the popular idea is to literally eat it cold like that. Crust and sauce baked, but cold cheese and toppings and, from people who have tried this, they seem to like it just fine.

Some have referred to this unique style of pizza as 'a Lunchable on crack' which sounds pretty accurate. I was never into the pizza Lunchables but I could see the comparison.

Not sure if something like this would do well in Yakima, but might be worth a shot for people who want a unique experience. Or maybe something fun to do at home.

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
