The grip most adults have is they wish they had more practical learning for what the real world is going to be like. Classes on doing your taxes or changing the oil in your own car or how to fix a window could have been great to learn instead of just trying to figure them out later.

A class on how to treat customer service employees is a class I think many people should have taken.

One big one is about budget and, more appropriately, how not to spend money as soon as it comes in.

How to shop, what to find, what to buy, what to look into when looking at getting a credit card, all things that would be great. Basically, how not to fall into debt.

Although there is some talk on this in our local high schools, it's not enough.

Financial website Wallet Hub looked at every state and found that Washington, for as great as it is in many categories, isn't great at high school budgeting education.

Washington came in 44th place out of 51 (they include Washington DC).

First place goes to Utah. Congrats!

The state with the worst high school budgeting education goes to Alaksa.

There are plenty of things one can do to help get this higher on the list for next time. Here's hoping something more involved gets included in basic studies in the near future.
