All Students + Families Welcome at West Valley’s STEAM Event May 29

West Valley is bringing back their Summer Send Off with STEAM event and everyone is invited.

You do not need to be a member of the West Valley school district to attend. In fact, you don't even need to live in West Valley. All students, all families are welcome to this fun event all about science, technology, electronics, art, and math.

At the West Valley innovation center at 9206 Zier Rd., you'll find fun activities about robotics, technology, health, art, food, music, and much more.

It's a great way to get your kids involved with anything STEAM related as we head into summer here in the Yakima Valley.

It's a celebration of discovery, innovation, and community spirit.

Join us Wednesday, May 29 from 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. for this free event.

There will be food trucks on-site for food and snack purchases. That's always fun.

I just love it when anyone does this in the community and invites everyone for better learning and more ways to have fun. It could even lead into a new career path for your kids, you never know.

So many booths will be available for your kids to check out, too, as well as adults. Schools like YVC, CWU, Perry Tech, and others will be on site. There'll be an aquarium to check out and a lot more going on.

Washington State is continuing its drought emergency into 2024, citing low snowpack and hot, dry forecasts. Here are the counties most affected by drought, based on data from the U.S. Drought Monitor to identify the counties in Washington with the worst droughts in the week leading up to April 30, 2024.

Note: "Abnormally dry" is not considered to be a drought, but is included as a separate data point.
