Imagine coming home on a Friday and seeing one of your favorite local businesses on fire.

That's exactly what happened on May 2nd when there was a photo of local favorite 1up Games up in smoke.

No word on exactly what happened, yet, but I'm sure we'll get word from the fire department PIO in good time.

Naturally, TikTok videos are already coming from it.

It's unfortunate. I just hope everyone is safe.

1up Games on 24th and Nob Hill has been in town for over 10 years providing video games new and old as well as a large variety of Funko pop figures to collectors. It has moved a few times since opening in Yakima landing on 24th and Nob Hill for the past several years.

The old Beer Shoppe, old Ted Brown, and the old Radio Shack if you can remember that far back.

I've always liked this building and sad to see something like this happen to anyone for any reason. Especially something near and dear to my heart as video games.

Over the years they started out as a small little spot on Washington kind of across from the air field. Then they moved to 36nd and Nob Hill and, for a time, all the way out more towards Union Gap before coming to 24th and Nob Hill.

I hope they can come back from all of this.
