The pub formerly known as The Tap has rebranded under a new name and concept for Yakima, Los Nopales, which translated is the Spanish word for cactus paddles, also known as prickly pears.
Los Nopales Yakima: Out with the Old (Bar), and in with the New
The bar has been repainted and has several notable changes, from the color on the walls to dozens of cacti throughout as to set the ambiance and live up to its name, plus an elevated Mexican decor with flavor. Arcade games, a crafted cocktail bar, and spacious bar seating with long tables to accommodate groups have also been added.
The One BIG Question Everyone Has About Los Nopales Yakima
The most common question people in Yakima are asking the owners of Los Nopales is, will the beer tap wall still be there? The Tap was famous for its tap wall, which featured over 30 beers with a self-pour option via a programmed computer wristband.
One former customer publicly commented, "As long as the self-tap is still there, I’m in!"
"We will have the self-serve taps, wine and a few crafted cocktails," says co-owner Juan Torres Jr. on The Tap's Facebook page.
Editor's Note: This article has been updated to reflect that Los Nopales Yakima is a bar and not a restaurant as previously reported.
