One Set of Human Remains Found in Toppenish Identified

The Yakima County Coroner has identified one of two sets of human remains found near Toppenish this month as a 25-year-old man from California reported missing along with his friend last year. Coroner Jim Curtice says they are the remains of Josiah Michael "Jo" Hilderbrand. He says his death has been ruled a homicide.

Curtice says he's still trying to identify the second set of remains. Hilderbrand and 47-year-old Jon Cleary were reported missing on June 7, 2019 as they were driving to the Gorge Amphitheatre. Their car was found burned in near Toppenish.
The two men went missing on the same day five people were killed in White Swan.
No arrests have been made as the investigation continues.
