Slipknot have only performed two songs from their new album, We Are Not Your Kind, in 2019, but there's a chance for a lot more in the future as guitarist Jim Root said the band is toying with the idea of playing the record in its entirety.

Next year marks Slipknot's 25th anniversary, which could be a cause for celebration amidst the campaign to bring We Are Not Your Kind to the maggots all over the globe. There's no shortage of ways the band can honor this milestone, but Root didn't disclose much when speaking about it with 93.3 WMMR.

"Clown’s talking about [the 25th anniversary]… I don’t know if we’re going to play a record live. We did that with Iowa at Knotfest and it was cool," Root said of the plan thus far.

That's when he revealed something a little more concrete and certainly more current when adding, "We have been talking about maybe trying to find some way to play the new album in its entirety, from top to bottom."

Root also said that he'd like to dial back the band's production, which, at this point, is massive — Corey Taylor even said Slipknot are attempting "Iron Maiden stuff" with their latest stage show. Continuing his thoughts on the full We Are Not Your Kind performance, the guitarist said, "I would like to do that – I think that would be something really cool. And do it in a really toned down, stripped down, no big stage set, club atmosphere type of thing."

If anything this might be a one-off performance or a series of special shows (just speculation here), but Slipknot would open it up to all of their fans. "I’d love to do something like that and maybe webcast it," concluded Root.
