The Seattle Mariners finally got some offense out of their much-maligned 5-9 batters and got another sterling performance from the arms in the bullpen en route to a 7-4 series-opening victory over the Los Angeles Angels at T-Mobile Park tonight (April 30).

On Jackie Robinson Day, which celebrated the 74th anniversary of the breaking of the color barrier in Major League Baseball, the Seattle Mariners, fittingly, defeated the Baltimore Orioles 4-2 in the first game of a twin bill en route to a sweep and a 3-1 series win that vaulted the M's (8-5) into first place in the American League West.

The most ancient of Mariners, Kyle Seager crushed an 0-1 pitch in the 6th inning to blow the game open with his 5th career Grand Slam to help propel the M's to a 10-2 win in Arlington, TX.
