The United States has a long history of celebrities running for office -- former Seattle Seahawk Steve Largent (U.S. representative from Oklahoma), wrestler Jesse Ventura (governor of Minnesota), actor and bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger (governor of California). And Ronald Reagan (who was also California governor) was an actor before he won the presidency in 1980.
