The New Thing on the Taco Bell Menu is Unique to Say the Least
I was at Taco Bell over the weekend and noticed they released their take on the chicken sandwich. The Crispy Chicken Sandwich Taco is now available and knew I had to try one.
The chicken sandwich is nothing new to most restaurants. Many fast food places have had that option for years. It wasn't until recently when there was kind of an Internet war between several including Popeyes and Chic-fil-A on who had the better sandwich that more and more started focusing on their own version. There was even a time when Popeye's restaurants couldn't keep up with demand.
Though that viralness is long gone Taco Bell decided to do their own take in their own way. A chicken taco, basically.
Our approach? Game-changing. We took crispy, white-meat chicken. Marinated it in jalapeño buttermilk. Seasoned it with bold Mexican spices. Rolled it in a crunchy, tortilla-chip coating. Topped it with creamy chipotle sauce. And put it inside a puffy flatbread shell because we could. Thus, the Crispy Chicken Sandwich Taco was born. Hatched? You get the idea.
The quick version is that it's good. Really good! Just not sure it's worth the price. I think I paid $2.79 for basically two bites. Granted I take big bites but still. when I first tried it I thought it tasted great and just writing this I'm already craving another but given other options on the menu that one may have been my first and last one. It's good, though. And If you think you're better off getting a chicken sandwich somewhere else, you'll end up paying twice as much as this item from Taco Bell so if you do that's on you.
