You just have to shake your head at how some people leave their trash dangling on the side of the road. Nasty nitwits! I think it is so gross to throw your trash out the window of your car. For some here in Washington state, it is a habit that's hard to break, but how hard is it to NOT dump your stuff where it doesn't belong?

There is always plenty of trash for the Adopt-A-Highway teams and prison corrections crews to pick up. Some of these groups partner up with the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) to help clean up the litter. It's not just the highways and byways where people dump their unwanted trash, I've personally seen the trash pile ups along the Greenway (in Yakima County). One time, my daughter, Willow, and I volunteered with her local Girl Scout Daisy troop to clean up litter for an hour. It was a lot of hard and sweaty work, so my hats off to any and everyone who picks up trash off the side of the roads!

Here are ten ridiculous things you'll see dumped on the side of the road in Washington state.
