Washington State Ranked 7th for Least Identity Theft
Identity theft and fraud are rampant all year long, especially around the holidays. Even with so many fail-safes in place, it still seems like some, well, fail. Good to know that Washington is one of the better states when it comes to stuff like this.

Believe it or not, Montana came in first place for best in this subject where the worst identity theft and fraud comes from Washington DC.
It doesn't mean Washington is completely off the hook when it comes to identity theft and fraud, though. We can still do better to educate ourselves and be more aware.
Washington is also 38th for identity theft complaints per capita, 22nd for fraud and other complaints, 18th for state security-free laws for minors' credit reports and 47th for persons arrested for fraud per capita.

The list starts with Hurricane Sally, which caused $7.3 billion in damages in 2020, and ends with a devastating 2005 hurricane that caused $170 billion in damage and killed at least 1,833 people. To find out more about how has the price of gas changed throughout the years, Stacker ran the numbers on the cost of a gallon of gasoline for each of the last 84 years. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.

To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. The 2020 County Health Rankings values were calculated using mortality counts from the 2016-2018 National Center for Health Statistics. The U.S. Census 2019 American Community Survey and America's Health Rankings Senior Report 2019 data were also used to provide demographics on the senior population of each state and the state's rank on senior health care, respectively.

Using March 2019 data from the Social Security Administration, Stacker compiled a list of the most popular names in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C., according to their 2018 SSA rankings. The top five boy names and top five girl names are listed for each state, as well as the number of babies born in 2018 with that name. Historically common names like Michael only made the top five in three states, while the less common name Harper ranks in the top five for 22 states.
