Yakima Native Colleen Atwood Wins Fourth Oscar Award Last Night
The Oscar awards for Best Costume Design came home to Yakima last night. Sort of.
Yakima, WA native Colleen Atwood (born in Yakima in 1948) picked up her fourth career Academy Award last night and her acceptance speech was one that was actually televised before a national and worldwide audience.
Atwood, who has been nominated 12 times in total, won yesterday for "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them". She has previously won for her work in the films "Alice In Wonderland" (2011), "Memoirs of a Geisha" (2005) and "Chicago " (2002).
