Youth Life Jacket Giveaway Saturday at Yakima County Fairgrounds

While Summer is now in full swing and kids are chomping at the bit to get outside, what better way than to hit the water for some socially-distanced fun?!?! Of course, boating, swimming, kayaking, etc. also brings its own set of risks which is why the good folks at Coastal Farm and Ranch are hosting a free life jacket giveaway for kids 12 and under this Saturday (July 11) at State Fair Park.

Three hundred life vests will be donated on a first come, first served basis from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. while supply lasts. The event will observe social distancing protocols and jackets will be distributed via a drive-through process. Children benefiting from the giveaway are not required to be present and it won't be necessary to even exit your vehicle!

Recipients are simply encouraged to approximately know how much each child receiving a life jacket weighs so that they are properly fitted for their size. Three sizes of life jackets will be made available -- again, while supplies last -- from infant to youth.

Infant sizing: up to 50 lbs.
Child sizing: 33 to 55 lbs.
Youth sizing: 55 to 88 lbs.

If you are interested in taking advantage of this fantastic opportunity, it is highly recommended that you arrive as soon as possible as, again, supply is limited to just 300 life vests.
