Students at Yakima Valley College will continue virtual learning through the 2021 spring and summer quarters. School officials say they made the decision based on Yakima County's COVID-19 data. There are exceptions for some in-person labs related to specific workforce programs. President Linda Kaminski says the main priority is the health and safety of employees and students and well as their families.
A press release says YVC campuses remain closed to the public with no in-person events. All the services are provided online.  Kaminski says making the decision to continue virtual learning help the college community to be prepared for the start of the spring and summer quarters.
School officials say decisions for fall quarter will be made in the near future.
