Much like yours, Downtown Yakima's holiday calendar is full of family fun!


Last Friday, Yakima's Community Christmas Tree lighting kicked-off the festivities at Millennium Plaza.
Coming up tomorrow (12/3), Yakima Valley Tourism will hold its 26th Annual Holiday Reception & Silent Auction from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Yakima Convention Center with a "Rockin' 50's Christmas"-themed sock-hop.

Friday, December 4th: "First Friday" activities at a variety of Downtown Yakima businesses including performances by winners of "America's Got Talent" the Olate Dogs at the Capitol Theatre at 7:00 pm and Polyrhythmics at the Seasons Performance Hall at 7:30 pm.

Saturday, December 5th: Seattle Rock Opera presents: Led Zeppelin will take to the Seasons Performance Hall's stage at 7:30 pm.

Sunday, December 6th: The Yakima Symphony Chorus performs
traditional Christmas favorites during its Christmas Pops Spectacular starting at 4:00 pm at the Capitol Theatre. At 6:00 pm, the 16th Annual Holiday Lighted Parade will fill Yakima Avenue from 6th Avenue to 3rd Street. The parade will be led by runners and walkers participating in Dasher’s Dash, a 1-mile race/walk sponsored by the Yakima Roteract Club. Dasher’s Dash will follow the parade route from 6th Avenue to 3rd Street. The cost is $15.00 per person. Registration can be taken care of ahead of time online at facebook.com/yakimarotoract or before the race at the Salvation Army beginning at 5:00 pm.

Tuesday, December 8th: The Orion Cinema will feature "A Christmas Story" as its Classic Movie Night offering (all shows currently sold out).

Friday, December 11th: The Seasons Performance Hall will welcome Cataldo & the Marshall McLean Band at 8:00 pm.

December 11th and 18th: Free horse drawn carriage rides will be available from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on December 5th, 12th, and 19th from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm and will board at both the Millennium Plaza and the Train Depot on North Front Street.

Saturday, December 12th: "Second Saturday" will see the second opportunity for free pictures with Santa at Ron’s Coin and Collectibles from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm and the Eugene Ballet Company performing The Nutcracker at the Capitol Theatre at both 2:00 pm and 7:30 pm.

The busy season in Downtown Yakima will also include the Yakima Youth Symphony Orchestra’s winter concert at the Capitol Theatre on Sunday, December 13th at 3:00 pm and A Holiday Cabaret with Charlie and Al at the 4th Street Theatre on Tuesday, December 22nd at 7:00 pm.
