Happy Birthday to Derek Riggs, Artist for Iron Maiden

Derek  Riggs is one of the most talented artists on the planet. I have about 20 friends who wear his artwork as tattoos. He is the amazing creator of 'Eddie' from Iron Maiden. My second-favorite band in the world! Derek Riggs created the Iron Maiden mascot, but the figure's name wasn't always 'Eddie.' Riggs' first artwork of Eddie was originally named "Electric Matthew Says Hello,"  and was actually painted a cover for a punk band.  It was then that Iron Maiden's management saw Derek's work and wanted him forever ... and the rest is history.

Derek's work is now legend for one of the greatest heavy metal rock bands in the world.
