Yakama Nation Legends Casino celebrated it's 14th birthday with a giant outdoor party on Monday.

94.5 KATS was graciously invited to help celebrate, and we jumped at the chance!
It was a gorgeous day in the valley already and the trip to Toppenish was well worth it.  When we arrived the folks from Ray's Meats and Cintas were already grilling dogs and burgers and the folks at Coca-Cola Bottling of Yakima were there as well to keep everyone cool with refreshing beverages.  The Yakima Bears were just arriving just as we were to set-up the t-ball batting cage for the kids.

Besides sunshine, food and t-ball, the Legends Associates were invited to compete in a myriad of contests including a Zombie Race, 3-legged race, wheelbarrow race, dunk tank, and pop-a-shot!  Add face painting for the kids and there was plenty for all to enjoy!

After saying a few brief words of thanks and leading the crowd of Legends Associates and their families in a rousing round of "Happy Birthday" (I did not realize that there are over 700 employees at the casino!) I had the chance to meet some of the great KATS listeners of the lower valley and some of the great staff members of the casino!

I was especially charmed with Dora (pictured below) who has been working there for 14 years and young Caleb Whitefoot (also pictured in the gallery) who, when presented with the question, "What is your favorite radio station?" did not hesitate when he answered "KATS!"

Thanks also, and especially, to Sol and Asa for inviting us and putting on a fun event!  We'll see you there for #15 next year!
