Let’s travel back to a better year. A year when Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” was blasting on the radio. The Avengers and Batman: The Dark Knight Rises are rocking the box office along with The Hunger Games, Bond’s Skyfall, the 5th Hobbit film, and the 1st reboot of Spider-Man! Everyone was reading Fifty Shades of Grey (even if they weren’t admitting it). Gas was around $3.60 per gallon, and Eggs only cost only $1.80 a dozen. And one of the biggest events of the year was a major bust!

Ah yes, a throwback to July 4th, 2012, when the world-renowned San Diego fireworks display had a computer glitch! People expected to see an amazing show that would last roughly twenty minutes, but instead, it went off all at once and only lasted roughly 25 seconds.

At first, people were blown away… figuratively and literally (for those up close to the action). It was a spectacle that made people smile and cheer with excitement. Then left them questioning, what happened? Is that It!?!?

Many views of the fireworks display were captured on film, and luckily for us at the time, it didn’t take up too much space on people’s phones and cameras (when we would actually have a camera that was separate from our phones) since the show was so short.

In some ways, it was the worst Independence Day display ever. But then again, no one talks about the display of 2011 or 2013. So maybe, those few moments were the best 25 seconds of our lives! Check out several videos below!
