Believe It or Not, Washington State Ranks 2nd in Best for Teen Drivers
Everyone jokes about the teen drivers. Mom's posting on their Facebook, "oh no, you better watch out!" or you see those driver's ed card and feel like you have to climb up a tree to avoid them. Never the case here in Washington state as we're ranked 2nd best for teen drivers. And for several reasons.
We're ranked second based on safety, economic environment, and driving laws.
First place goes to New York which is interesting but I won't argue it.
Washingtong does rank first in a few things based on this category, though!
1st for presence of Distracted-Driving laws
1st for presence of occupant-protection laws
1st for presence of impared-driving laws
and also 3rd for Provisions of teen driver's graduated licensing program laws
as well as 5th for vehicle miles traveled per capita
Also important to point out 7th for teen driver fatalities per 100,000 teens. Could be better but could be a lot worse.
Worst place for drivers? Avoid Montana, Wyoming and Missouri in that order. Now, I lived in Wyoming for 6 months and didn't notice anything, really, but maybe I just wasn't there long enough.
But don't take my word for it. WalletHub did all the research for you. Shove this in your parent's face.
