The Machine came and rocked the Yakima Valley SunDome on Sunday, October 5th, and as one of the many that was in attendance, I must say, the crowd, seemed more like a Friday night crowd, not a Sunday night crowd, especially after we (yes we, the crowd) got warmed up, courtesy of Bert and his opening comics got to work!

Katherine Blanford Kicking Off The Yakima Party

Kicking off Bert Kreischer’s ‘Permission To Party’ tour was Katherine Blanford, who many recognized from her appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. With her Kentucky charm, she riffed on her outfit, marital status, and appreciation for being back in a rural town. A great opener.

The Yakima Party's Appetizer, Ian Fidance

The energy got amped up to 11 when Ian Fidance hit the stage. With great stage presence, rapid-fire jokes, and manic energy, he got the crowd all on the same page when speaking the truth about everyone’s smartphones and the evil they are, and how they’re always listening, giving examples about his phone, and then requests TO his phone.

I can’t think of two better openers for this show. They build the mood, the energy, and the excitement for Bert Bert Bert! Then this video played, introducing The Machine, Bert Kreischer.

THE MACHINE COMES TO YAKIMA TO PARTY!

Bert took the stage, and true to his word, the shirt came off! He performed for a little over an hour, sharing his comedy adventures (and misadventures) from traveling, friendships, family, pornography, and even over 25 minutes of ‘Black Jokes’ and personal stories with Shaquille O'Neal and some of his neighborhood BLOODs… “ICE CREAM” became my brother’s and my codeword for the rest of the night.

I would also like to add that this was the first time in a long time that I’ve seen a comedy show where it felt like old-school comedy. The jokes and stories were told (by all the comedians); if they offended, then you didn’t listen to them closely enough and heard the love and acceptance that was given with each punchline.

Bert wrapped up the night with the story that was (for me and many others) our introduction to the man, the myth, the legend, THE MACHINE. Adding new insights to the story I had never heard.

I’m so grateful the Permission To Party Tour came through Yakima, and I’m happy that the Yakima Valley came together to damn near pack the SunDome for this show. Keep scrolling to check out more photos from the show.
