Brown Continues to Lead in District 6 City Council Race

Another ballot count happened in the Yakima County Auditors Office from Tuesday's general election.

Mat Brown increased his lead over Lisa Wallace on Thursday

Matt Brown increased his lead on Thursday to 54 votes ahead of his opponent Lisa Wallace in the race for the District 6 seat on the Yakima City Council

According to the auditors office Brown now leads the race with 2,022 votes or 50.55% compared to Wallace who has 1,968 votes or 49.2% of the vote.

Another count happens Friday afternoon

The count continues in the auditors office Friday afternoon.

On Thursday morning Auditor Charles Ross told KIT News he believe about 14,000 ballots were left to count. Another count of ballots happen this afternoon with about 10,000 ballots left to count. He's hoping to have all the ballots counted by Saturday.

After the Thursday count the election turnout sits at 24%.
