If you love to cross country ski you'll be excited to hear some big changes are coming to the White Pass Ski Area cross-country trails. U.S. Forest Service officials say the draft environmental assessment has been completed on a plan to improve the area. Now a comment period is open until September 8.
The proposed plan is to construct new cross-country trials, build a new lodge and warming hut at the cross-country base area. Construction could start later this fall.

As for skiing for the upcoming season? White Pass General Manager Kevin McCarthy says plans are moving ahead with some changes because of the covid-19 pandemic but he says the season is set to start later this year.

The ski area is located in Lewis County not Yakima County.
