‘Decemberfest’ Primer — Here’s What to Expect Saturday Night
This Saturday night, Townsquare Media, along with the Yakima Federal Savings & Loan, has teamed up with The Seasons Performance Hall to present "Decemberfest 2 -- A Season of Beers and Cheers" to benefit the Salvation Army and their annual Toys for Tots drive.
The evening will feature at least five Yakima-area breweries pouring seasonal brews, as well as live music from seven local bands and artists performing holiday tunes in their fashion. Tickets are still available for $20 at The Seasons Box Office or online at BrownPaperTickets.com. All proceeds go directly to the aforementioned local charity.
Listen to "The Todd & Timmy Show" for your chance to win free tickets and sit at Todd E. Lyons, Esquire's table!
Here's a sampling of the performers scheduled to play this weekend:
Cobrahawk
This rockin' outfit out of Ellensburg always draws a crowd -- whether at Apple Jam or Chinook Fest -- and are no strangers to playing funky Christmas standards. They make a return to Decemberfest this year.
These Guitars Say Sorry
Also returning in 2019, our old chum Jez Slowe grew up in England during the mod scene, so his one-man band is certainly influenced by that era's music.
Tempest
This West Valley group's chops belie their fresh faces. Members are all still in their teens, but they are already veteran performers having opened for nationally touring bands at Perham Hall, as well as finishing second at Apple Jam and earning a spot at the annual Chinook Fest -- not to mention a show at Downtown Summer Nights.
Chase Craig Band
Fronted by its namesake, another West Valleyian, Chase Craig is a musician who's got a feel for music made by his predecessors. With a blues- and pop-tinted roots rock style, it will be interesting to hear his spin on Christmas tunes.
Jayleigh Ann and the Lost Boys
An acoustic pop trio, and another mind-numbingly talented group of younger folks from our valley, this trio of singer/songwriters can pick some beautiful music with soaring vocals. Exhibit A:
Zach Hinson
Zach brings his modern country flavor to Decemberfest for the first time this year. Another talent out of West Valley, Hinson was a former contestant on NBC-TV's hit show "The Voice."
No stranger to the Seasons, Rondi released her album "The Pink Room" in the hall at tad over two years ago. She brings her silky jazz vocals to Decemberfest for the first time this year.
