Despite COVID-19 Homes Sales Strong in Yakima County
COVID-19 has kept a lot of people at home wishing they lived in a different home and that may be part of the reason for strong real estate sales so far this year in Yakima County.
According to Kristi Wilbert an affiliate member of the Yakima Assn. of Realtors 318 total homes were sold county wide in July of 2020 which is a 7% increase from the 297 homes sold in July of 2019. For the entire year she says 1,615 homes have sold, a 4% increase over last year as well.
Wilbert says the average home price was $269,000, an 11% increase from last year. Wilbert says "the residential volume is strong for the month compared to June 2020 and the July 2020 residential market remains good especially considering the pandemic restrictions."
