Where NOT to Eat Your Corn Dog at the Central Washington State Fair
We all love the fair food! The elephant ears, the funnel cakes, cotton candy, lamb burgers, CORN DOGS! And a wide variety of deep-fried treats that may or may not be on a stick! They’re great and messy!
A lot of thought goes into what to eat when you’re at the Central Washington State Fair, but not a lot of thought about WHERE to eat, and more importantly, WHERE NOT TO EAT!

Location, Location, Location!
Where NOT to eat at the fair, when it comes down to it, is probably more important than what you actually decide to eat.
When my wife and I attended the fair earlier this week, we bought our annual and traditional corn dog and went to find somewhere to eat it. Depending on where you’re at inside State Fair Park, seating and tables can be plentiful; other times you could be searching for an open spot for a bit.

Once we found a spot and sat, I people watched and saw how many people were walking around while enjoying their fair treats, and that made me realize there are some BIG NO-NO places to eat food at the fair. Some are comical, so not so much.
Top 5 Places TO NOT Eat Your Food At The Central Washington State Fair
Bathrooms/Outhouses
In the fair or outside the fair, you don’t want to eat in these rooms… You know why.
On The Rides
Rides move fast, making you risk making a mess. Plus, some rides may make you sick; don’t fuel up when the tank may unload because of the movement.
While Blowing Glass
If you didn’t see my article about Ikonic Glass glassblowing activity at the fair, read it here. You don’t want to eat food while glassblowing because you need total focus, both hands, and you’ll probably burn your food.
The Bouncy House
Same thought as the rides, although trying to enjoy any food with a bunch of little kids jumping every where is guaranteed not to be a good time.

The Barns!
This is the main thought I had that led to me writing this article. The amount of people I saw eating elephant ears while petting ducks, and ice cream while petting horses, nachos while looking at chickens! If you can smell the animals and what comes out of them, those particles are getting onto your food. The staff does a great job keeping the areas as clean as possible, but still!
