Your chance to visit the Downtown Yakima Farmers Market comes on Sunday when the market opens for the season. You'll see some COVID-19 changes at the market located on South 3rd Avenue. The market will open at 9:00 a.m. with one-way traffic, a designated entrance and exit and hand washing stations available. If you visit you're asked to limit your time at the market and no sampling will be allowed. Also vendors will select and serve your produce and products.
Market officials say between 16 and 20 essential agriculture vendors will be at the market on opening day.
Sunday's forecast calls for clouds for the opening of the market. The Market Manager Yvette Lippert says she's been working closely with the Yakima Health District to keep people safe on Sunday.
