The heat wave has come, and although it looks to be cooling off a little bit, when you’re outside baking in the sun, can you really feel the difference between 92 and 101?

Not if you're pasty white and bald like me. What do you have to say about our heatwave? We asked, and you answered, and we have them below.

When It Comes To Heat, Robin Williams Said It Best

Robin Williams had one of my favorite jokes that he told (and opened with) on his 2002 LIVE album; it went something like:

“Is it hot enough for you? Naaa, I like the sweat to be flowin’ down the crack of my @$$ like Niagara!”

That is exactly the way I’ve felt this week. Granted, I was busy doing LIVE RADIO in parking lots at noon wearing jeans and a black shirt, a chubby fellow's uniform. It was hot. Not as hot as it has been in the past, but it has been hot.

Record Heat For Yakima Valley In August

According to RecordTemps.in, the hottest Yakima has ever been was on August 10th, 1971, when it reached 110 degrees. Note that the all-time high was in June 2021, at 113 degrees.

So, even with that info in your melting brain, I figure it’s still safe to say that it’s been hot (not to mention all the smoke and lack of wind this week).

What The Audience Is Saying About The Heat

In kind of an informal discussion as I’ve been out and about, the normal ‘ice breaker’ is the hot topic of the weather. I’ve been channeling the Robin Williams joke, and asking people “Hot enough for you?” to get the conversation rolling about the heat. Here are some of my favorite responses.
