Prize Money and a Great Cause at the 2022 Downtown Yakima Mile!
Ready to run? I could be talking about the Dixie Chicks song OR perhaps it has something to do with the Downtown Yakima Mile? How about both! Wait, I realize now that sounds like the Dixie Chicks could be attending the third annual record-breaking race, which is not the case but you never know what's going to happen, that's why you need to mark your calendar!
When is the 2022 Downtown Yakima Mile?
On the evening of Saturday, July 2nd, 2022 people from all across the world will be converging on the Yakima Valley in hopes to break the records being set each year at the Yakima Downtown Mile brought to you by Home2 Suites and Tru by Hilton Yakima Airport.
What is the Downtown Yakima Mile?
a one-mile race down a beautiful 14-block gradual downhill stretch of Yakima Avenue, finishing in the shadows of Yakima’s historic Larson Building. This year’s race will be held on Saturday, July 2, and will feature heats for kids, families, veterans, elite runners, and more who “want to run their fastest mile…. EVER”. Walkers and dogs are welcome too!
How Many Heats are There?
There will be 11 heats total culminating in the fastest races wrapping up the event, each runner hoping to earn prize money! There is good news for the younger crowd, 18 and under get to run for free! Seniors will only be $12.50 and your support by attending and participating in this local event helps to raise awareness for Yakima's local YWCA.

Did you know that the domestic violence rates in Yakima county are the highest in Washington State? It's important to shine a light on our resources and help those in need in any way that we can so by registering early for the 2022 Yakima Downtown Mile you are showing support. By sharing the information and inviting your friends you are acknowledging your willingness to be an ally.
