The Dumb Thing I Did For Love In Yakima

I’m not sure if it was in love or lust, but I’ve made this particular mistake two times. The mistake was helping them move or move something heavy, and each time, it involved an upright grand piano.

The first time was for a girl I really liked, and her family needed their piano move. My father used to work at Talcott Music Store off of 3rd Ave in Yakima, and so I have plenty of practice moving pianos. It was heavy, but we got the job done. Did I get a relationship… no.

The second dummy move for me was the same type of thing; only I helped her entirely move, which did include a piano. Two days later, she realized the place that she moved to was not a safe place for her or her son, so my buddy and I got her moved out and safe that night. Did I get a relationship out of that situation?

No, even worse, she was dating someone at the time who did not help her move because of health reasons (that, while I understand, I still see as a lame excuse to not get someone you care about out of danger).

Luckily, I’m still friends with both of these ladies, and I’m now happily married to a woman who has never made me move a piano, so win, win!

Now that you know what dumb thing I’ve done for love, here are the Top 5 things that Yakima residents have done, submitted by our listeners and readers.
