Fair Food Fest a Big Success

The Fair Food Fest Drive-Thru event September 17-20 at State Fair Park in Yakima saw more than 4,000 vehicles full of people who loved fair food.
Fair officials say lots of people donated food at the event with Yakima Rotary collecting 4,400 pounds of food and $3,000 in cash donations. Top sellers were elephant ears and Young Life’s barbecue sandwiches.
They say the feedback from both the community and vendors was so positive that they may hold a future Fair Food Fest depending on COVID-19 restrictions. Fair officials say they'd like to hold another event where people could get out of thier cars and enjoy other activities as well.
The full 2021 Central Washington State Fair will be back. It's scheduled for September 24 - October 3rd of next year.
