Pluto was discovered Feb. 18,1930, at the observatory in Flagstaff Ariz. It was deemed the ninth planet in the solar system, however in 2005, Pluto was demoted as a non-planet because it didn't meet new astronomy criteria. It needed to “clear the neighborhood around its orbit" according to the International Astronomical Union.

No matter if it is a planet or not, we still celebrate its birth into our solar system. Space is amazing, scary and extremely uncharted. We learn something new every day. Pluto was a planet. Now it's not. What will we learn tomorrow?
