Firefighters Douse Ahtanum Ridge Fire Sunday

A big fire on the Ahtanum Ridge north of White Swan kept firefighters busy on Sunday afternoon. The fire started early Sunday afternoon and burned about 150 acres of grass and brush. Fire crews from Fire District 5 in Toppenish were able to stop the fire from burning over the ridge. Firefighters were helped by dozers and helicopters to battle the flames.
The cause remains under investigation.
