‘God’s Not Dead’ Text Message Is a Mystery

Twice in the last week I have received a text message that simply reads, "God's not dead."

Both of these messages came to me from friends who I know to be people of faith, so it wasn't shocking, just curious.

Being a wise-ass, I replied to the texts with, "No, but I am." to which I got nary a response.  Not a "Ha!" or a smiley face emoticon. Nothing. This made me more curious.

Is this a friend challenging my beliefs? Is it the latest social media meme to make the rounds a la the #IceBucketChallenge?

Is there a movie or TV show that is asking or challenging viewers to send this?
