Calling all Lego lovers! The Yakima Harman Senior Center is putting on a virtual pirate themed lego building contest and submissions must be in by Friday August 28th, 2020.

All ages are welcome to enter the tournament. Our judges are members of the Harvest Lego User Group. We hope this event brings grandparents, parents, and children together to build a Lego Project and make memories. - Leslie Richards (Recreation Program Supervisor)

In order to be entered into the competition everyone will need to fill out the entry form and the winners of the Lego competition will be announced on Thursday, September 3rd, 2020.

You can get as creative as you want so I say go for it, think outside of the box and I don't think it would be a bad idea to listen to a little Lego themed music to get the creativity flowing, might I suggest the song Everything is AWESOME!!!

I also took the liberty of looking up things that are associated with pirates

Walt Disney Pictures

Hooks, peg legs, X marks the spot, parrots, swords, gold, buried treasure, skulls, crossbones, planks, ships, black flags, rum, bandana, barrels, bottles, boots, sashes, gold teeth, jewels, mops and buckets.

There are a lot of pirate themed Lego sets out there but I also found some tutorials to help you build stuff with the Legos you might already own, remember to add your own flare.

Anything could be in your treasure chest cause yo ho! It's a pirate's life for me :)

An idea for building a pirate lord

and for the wrap-up a viewing of every pirate set ever made.

Good luck, happy building and I can't wait to see the finished products!
