INKED? Yes, Even Your Yakima News Guy Has Tattoos
Okay I know many of you reading this may be surprised to know your news guy loves tattoos. It's true. No I didn't get the tattoos recently, they've been applied over the years. Tattoos were on my skin before tattoos became popular.
It didn't take much to convince me to get my first tattoo
Frankly when I was first inked many were surprised and thought I'd lost my mind. The reason I decided to get my first ink was a incentive from the ski industry. A friend owns a gear company and promised free stuff for a tattoo of his company logo. Who could say no. That was the first tattoo.
Today the number is 13. More are planned.

Over the last five years tattoos have become more mainstream with more than 50% of US residents under 40 now getting tattoos. Do you have any tattoos? Why did you get a tattoo? The reasons vary as to why people get tattoos. Many times people get them to remember or honor someone or some experience. It the past tattoos weren't as popular and were seen as unprofessional. Today many employers aren't bothered by people with tattoos and even the US military has relaxed tattoo standards.

Millennials according to the Breeze newspaper "represent 41% of all people with tattoos, according to EarthWeb, and are generally more accepting of tattoos on employees."
I'll be honest. I love my tattoos and can't wait to sport more. Neck tattoos are planned for my 60th birthday. And I don't mind a bit if the people who help me at local businesses sport a tattoo!
