Not thinking I'd find anything nearby open for dinner, I noticed a restaurant across from my hotel in downtown Wenatchee. It was the place that ended up serving me one of the best Moscow Mules I've had in a long time: Bob's Classic Restaurant & Distillery (110 2nd St, Wenatchee).

The burger was amazing, too, and I found several other hidden treasures in downtown Wenatchee to tell you about if you've never been there!

When in Rome Wenatchee

The Wenatchee I used to know about 20 years ago when I used to make frequent trips from Yakima was a quiet and sleepy little town in the heart of Chelan County. Fast-forward to today, the quaint, rural, and tiny place is now, dare I say it, hustling and bustling with activity--even on a Monday.

I arrived in town for a work project a few hours ago and got bored sitting in my comfy downtown hotel room, so I went for a walk. I stopped in Natural Foods (222 N Wenatchee Ave) and bought a hibiscus ginger ale before the store closed for the night.

Bob's Classic a restaurant and distillery. My server told me that all the burgers were half off, so I picked something called the Cantina Crunch--it had enough black olives, jalapeños, tortilla strips, red onions, and sliced tomatoes to make a salad. It was  S C R U M P T I O U S.

After dinner, I walked a little further into the downtown pedestrian zone of Wenatchee. I heard the sounds of rushing water and discovered a huge water fountain. I didn't have any pennies, so I couldn't make a wish.

On my way back to the hotel, I saw this lovely spot of public art hiding in a corner beside the Numerica Performing Arts Center (123 N Wenatchee Ave).

The next time you visit Wenatchee, take a walk downtown, smell the flowers, and make a wish in the fountain!

Wenatchee Rails and Ales

Snowboarders and skiers took over downtown Wenatchee during the annual Rails and Ales rail jam, turning city streets into a temporary terrain park packed with rails, jumps, and big tricks. Riders from across the region competed in the popular Wenatchee winter event, battling for a $1,000 top prize while a large crowd gathered to watch the action unfold under the lights. The event featured separate snowboard and ski divisions for men and women, with competitors showcasing style, creativity, and technical skill throughout the night. Scroll through this photo gallery to see highlights from the 2026 Rails and Ales event in downtown Wenatchee, including big rail slides, jumps, and podium finishes from the competition’s top riders.
