Hippies are mostly associated with the peace movement of the 1960s. All the 'Make Peace, Not War', love your fellow neighbor, be one with the universe and all that.

And really, when you think of it, hippies never really went away. Sure, those hippies of the '60s grew up and all that but every generation has had people with that hippie philosophy of loving everyone, loving earth, using natural products... all things very hippie.

When it comes to being a hippie, you don't have to live in San Francisco as there are hippies across the United States.

So when it comes to Washington State, what's the best place to be a hippie. What city in Washington is best for hippies?

Where is the best hippie town in Washington State?

According to Thrillist, you'll find your fellow hippies in Olympia more than anywhere else.

Yes, it's true. Our state's capital city is also best for hippies.

Thrillist said it came down to either Olympia or Bellingham which would have been a great choice as well, but Olympia is home to Evergreen State College.

And why Evergreen is hippie? It doesn't have grades. You just show up and learn. Kinda neat, really.

They also talk about the location being near Mt. Rainier and being so close to trees, water, and all things Mother Earth for outdoor activities.

I'm not saying all hippies need to move to Olympia or anything like that, but it's great if you're already there.
