The other day my kid was telling me about the new drinks they have a C&S Coffeehouse and mentioned they had something new called a dirty soda.

Well, not that I'm a man of the world, but even I was confused on what a dirty soda was.

I've heard of a dirty chai (chai w/ coffee) so maybe a Dirty Soda was similar?

I brushed it off as maybe it was just a fun new thing C&S had and disregarded it.

Fast-forward to this past weekend where I saw Coffee Mate was selling Dirty Soda creamer.

Okay, now I'm curious as it's apparently popular enough for other companies to take note and cash in on the new trend.

Still, though, what is it?

What is a Dirty Soda?

It's basically when you add coffee creamer to soda like Dr. Pepper.

I suppose any soda would work so if you prefer Coke Zero, Mountain Dew, anything should work.

When I found that out, I was like, wait a minute, that's exactly what Cheers in Yakima has been doing this whole time!

I didn't know this had a name but, with anything in life, when people start making drinks like this on purpose it should probably have a name.

Dirty Soda works as well as anything.

In retrospect, I remember my oldest child doing this with Dr. Pepper, specifically. They saw it on TikTok and would go to a gas station, get Dr. Pepper in a fountain cup, add coffee creamer and would say how great it was.

I don't know if there's a traditional mix. I've seen some people say it's definitely Dr. Pepper combined with a coconut-lime flavor and coffee creamer. That's a traditional Dirty Soda.

I've also heard some people use Diet Coke and other flavors, too, in their Dirty Soda.

Maybe a Dirty Soda is worth trying sometime, if you're feeling adventurous!
