At the Chalet Place Shopping Center on 56th and Summitview you'll notice a new sign above a business near Wray's between Inkling's Books and English Country Market.

El Beny Cuban Restaurant has the sign up already. There's already seating inside and out as well as a beautiful mural on the wall of Cuban legend Beny Moré.

The Cuban Cuisine at El Beny in Yakima

The menu hasn't been finalized as of yet, but some dishes you can expect would be Ropa Vieja which is kind of like a shredded beef Cuban stew, Pollo a la Plancha which is citrus-marinated grilled chicken, Bistec de Palomilla which is a thin, pan-seared steak, Lechón Asado Plate which is a Cuban pork roast, and many more favorites.

There are plenty of places to sit inside and they also offer outdoor seating as well.

Although they weren't open just yet, I peeked through the window and was welcomed by Felix, proprietor of El Beny Cuban Restaurant. He said they're currently working on the menu. Though the business is closed for now, they have signage on top of the building as well as 'opening soon' signs on the windows.

Felix is also no stranger to running a business in Yakima as he's also the owner of Friendly Automotive with 2 locations in Yakima and one in Selah.

He mentioned that as soon as the menu is finalized, the menu will also be on the door to get an idea of what to expect when they do open.

No word on an opening date, yet, but soon as we know we'll let you know.
