A Live ‘Urban Kitchen’ Pop-Up Restaurant Event Comes to Yakima

An Urban Kitchen pop-up restaurant is coming to Yakima, and all the chefs are kids!

This event is hosted by The Fat Pastor Chef Shawn Niles and his team of experts. I heard through the grapevine that some portions of this unique event will be filmed for an Urban Kitchen television show. How cool is that!

WHAT IS URBAN KITCHEN?

Urban Kitchen is a culinary school in Yakima that teaches young students the ins and outs of becoming a great chef and sous chef.

The students learn how to make delicious fine cuisine from established chefs, including The Fat Pastor, who has been a contestant on MasterChef with Gordon Ramsay, and Best Leftovers Ever on Netflix.

We're not talking about simple recipes like spaghetti and meatballs! A post on The Fat Pastor's website says that you can expect to be served a three-course meal and drinks.

One of the students participating in this Urban Kitchen pop-up is Chef Niles's son, Asher. He was recently starred on Season 9 of MasterChef Junior. He made it to the top four!

I was just about to get a ticket to this Urban Kitchen event, but I felt kind of weird making a reservation for ONE.

The event will be hosted Friday, February 28th through Sunday, March 2nd, inside the Salvation Army building on North 16th Ave. in Yakima.
