Watch Jesus Piece Vocalist Dropkick a Stage Diver at a Hardcore Show
Aaron Heard, lead vocalist of Philadelphia hardcore outfit Jesus Piece, recently delivered an awe-inspiring standing dropkick to a concertgoer. The exciting exchange — all caught on video — shows the brutal move that sends the stage diver straight from the platform to the audience in terrifying fashion.
That's what goes down in the recent upload from scene documenters hate5six, jokingly titled "Guy gets killed at a hardcore show" on YouTube. The clip comes from Jesus Piece's performance last week (Sept. 21) at Japan's Bloodaxe Festival 2019, where the group performed alongside other heavy acts such as Knocked Loose, Merauder, Backtrack and more. Watch the video down toward the bottom of this post.
"I regret to inform everyone that Corey Charpentier is no longer with us," the clip's description says of the dropkick recipient. "Tonight during the Jesus Piece set at Bloodaxe Fest, Aaron sent Corey straight into the year 4019."
Of course, it all appears to be in good fun. (The blast from the Jesus Piece vocalist was pointed out on Twitter earlier this week by WrestleBotch, a social media outpost for "Botchamania"-style wrestling content.)
It lines up with Pitchfork's 2016 description of the band from a review of that year's "Greed" single. "Jesus Piece are a band from Philadelphia who play beatdown hardcore," the website reported, "aka slowed-down metal-tinged hardcore filled with breakdowns that makes you want to destroy a club with your windmills and floor punches."
The full Jesus Piece performance from Bloodaxe is presumably forthcoming.
