
Washington Exodus, States Offering Free Land to Move
According to the Seattle Times, over 230,000 people have left Washington state since 2020. And with recent actions by our state’s government, many are getting fed up and looking at a way out. If you’re one of those people, some states are offering free land for you to pull up stakes, load up the U-Haul, and move. We have those states below.
Frustrating Times In Washington
Roughly 35 thousand people a year are leaving Washington state, as reported by KIRO / MyNorthwest.com, with the high cost of living being a main reason for Washington’s exodus.
I don’t like getting political, but when you look at the choices and decisions our state’s representatives are making, some going against what a majority of the voters have chosen (looking at you, income tax and car tab decisions), it’s hard not to point the finger at our leaders for the reason why residents are abandoning ship.
Where Are People Moving To?
Idaho, Oregon, and Texas seem to be the top spots that Washington residents report pulling up stakes and rebuilding their lives in.
