Mailbox Thieves Busted By Local Police

There have been a rash of mailbox burglaries this holiday season in the Yakima area, not just package thieves.

Thankfully, the Yakima Police Department reports at least one couple has been caught.

"They got busted!" the Yakima Police boasted on social media this afternoon.

According to YPD, this morning a man and woman were arrested by Yakima County Sheriff's Deputies for allegedly breaking into locked mail boxes.

Authorities say the van they were driving contained stolen mail along with stolen packages, so if your mail box was broken into recently you could possibly recover some mail.
