The day many of us in the Yakima Valley have been eagerly waiting for is almost upon us!

That day is the grand opening of our first Texas Roadhouse restaurant.

Who's ready for those rolls!?!?

I started writing about (and requesting) the chain to build a closer-than-Kennewick location for a while, and whether my requests were actually heard or not doesn't matter. The important thing is, the restaurant is happening, Monday July 29th!

While Texas Roadhouse is gearing up for its grand opening, the staff is getting trained and pumped for their Yakima Valley premiere.

If you did not know, the restaurant chain has a long history of giving back to its community, especially showing appreciation to military personnel and first responders.

While the cooks learn the ins and outs of the signature dishes, the first responders in Union Gap have been getting the opportunity to sample the great eats.

I'm fortunate enough to be friends with many of them, and I was invited to have a taste test with some of the delights, and let's just say... we're all in for a big treat on July 29th.

Many items from their menu weren't up for grabs, and I was a little bummed that the rolls, although being on point, didn't include the famous cinnamon butter, but, what I was able to sample, tasted just as good as their Kennwick counterpart.

Steak, ribs, bacon cheeseburger, grilled BBQ chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, mixed veggies, and of course, the rolls (minus the butter)!

I do miss Sea Galley. Nothing will ever replace that restaurant or the memories it brought to the valley.

& There will always be date nights at Yakima Steak Company, Outback Steakhouse, Famous Dave's Bar B Que, etc. I'm just grateful for an additional option in the Yakima Valley!
